The construction of the recycled water force main in Cement
Plant road is progressing. Construction
crews uncovered multiple unexpected underground utilities and obstacles during
construction of the force main, causing delays.
We appreciate your continued patience during this period of traffic
detours.
This week construction crews will be beginning the jack and
bore operation under the railroad tracks and Highway 1. This work will provide the farmer on the
ocean-side of Highway 1 with the ability to irrigate the farmland with recycled
water from the treatment plant in the future.
Also beginning this week is grading work for the recycle
water storage pond located on the property along Warnella Road. The recycled water in the storage pond will
be used by the property owner for irrigation and will be available for the
general public to purchase at the recycled water fill station. Purchasers of the recycled water must
pre-register with the Davenport County Sanitation District and agree to only use
the recycled water for approved uses.
